Added

  • Theme Studio edits your own theme: it opens on the theme you use, and Save writes over that theme's file instead of making a copy. The theme's name is a menu of your themes and the built-in ones (a built-in opens as a new, unnamed theme), with New Theme…, Duplicate (⇧⌘S), Rename… and Revert to Saved; unsaved edits ask before you switch. Undo and redo (⌘Z, ⇧⌘Z) go back through your edits, one step per change, also after a save.
  • Theme files have a format number (version). Saving a theme in Theme Studio writes version 1: instead of following the theme it extends, the file keeps a copy of that theme's values in base, so it no longer changes when that theme changes (colours Wormhole works out by its rules still can). The file keeps its name and the file it replaced is kept in themes/.versions/. Earlier releases can't open a version 1 file; Export and Copy JSON still write the older format. Files you don't save in Theme Studio are not rewritten.
  • Drag a terminal's row out of the sidebar to tear it off: let go over the desktop and it opens in a window of its own, let go over another Wormhole window and it moves there, still running.
  • A right-click (or ⌃-click) on a terminal opens a menu with Copy, Paste, Select All, Find, Split Right, Split Down and Clear Buffer, each with its shortcut and a small picture. Over a link it adds Open Link and Copy Link, and over a finished command in a shell with integration, Copy Command, Copy Output and Put Command at Prompt. In a program that uses the mouse, the click still goes to the program; hold ⇧ for the menu.

Changed

  • The terminal no longer draws a faint, blurred copy of the lines that scrolled out above it under the title row: the top of the terminal is just the terminal.
  • The "Line under the title row" setting is gone: it only marked where the blurred lines ended, and nothing drew it any more. A title_border still in config.json is ignored.
  • When the helper that keeps terminals running can't start, the warning that the terminal ends when Wormhole quits is a chip on the terminal instead of a banner over it. It stays until you close it with its ×, explains itself in plain words from its ⓘ or a click on the chip (what happened, what to do, and the error's own words to copy and report, with a button to the logs folder), follows its terminal as the layout moves it, and waits out of sight while the terminal isn't on screen or the command palette is open. A copy's chip shows over it for a moment and then gives it back. Where the notice chip is off, the banner stays.
  • Copying the folder's path from its right-click menu, a refused Put Command at Prompt and a program copying to the clipboard now show on the notice chip. The chip says why a command was not put at the prompt, and in a terminal you aren't typing in it names the program that copied ("ssh copied 120 characters"; "Copied 120 characters" in the one you are typing in). A program's copy in a terminal that isn't on screen is not shown, since nobody could tell which terminal it was; when a program is typing in or reading a terminal that isn't on screen, its marker still shows, on the terminal you are looking at. The folder card's own Copy path button still says "Copied" in place, and VoiceOver announces it. Where the notice chip is off, the bar over the pane still says that a program copied or that a command was refused, and VoiceOver hears the refusal and the menu's copy.

Fixed

  • The "!" on a terminal's badge when it needs you sits in the middle of the badge instead of off to its left.
  • Clear Buffer (⌘K) leaves the terminal cleared: the lines above no longer come back when the shell redraws its screen, and in a terminal kept by the session helper they stay gone when you reopen the window.
  • Saving a theme in the Theme Studio sets the pick of the theme's own appearance (light or dark) instead of always the dark one, and a theme that is a pick already changes no pick.
  • A palette the Theme Studio copies keeps the cursor text and selection text colours of the theme it came from.
  • Open in Finder, from a terminal's title row, no longer launches a folder that is really a program (name.app, .prefPane, .workflow, .pkg): Finder now shows such a folder instead of opening it.
  • The diff shows characters you can't see as visible marks: control characters as their symbols, and the marks that change text direction (as in a "Trojan Source" trick) as <U+202E> and the like, so code in a diff reads as it really is.
  • Pressing Esc, or clicking outside it, to close the command palette no longer quits Wormhole while the Motion feature is on and Reduce Motion is off.
