Not sure which? Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. A chip named Apple M1 or later means Apple silicon; a processor named Intel means Intel.
Install
Install in three steps

Open the .dmg
A window opens with Wormhole and a shortcut to Applications.

Drag Wormhole into Applications
It has to live there to update itself.

Open Wormhole
If macOS asks whether you're sure, choose Open.
Or, if you use Homebrew:
brew install --cask wormhole-terminal/tap/wormhole-terminalWormhole 1.3.0 came out on October 25, 2026. What changed is in the release notes.
